Webauthn is a very secure way to accept Hardware security keys and device biometrics as an Authenticator type in Authsignal. Learn more about WebAuthn

Webauthn is available on Enterprise plans only, please get in touch with your account or customer success manager to discuss how to enable Webauthn as an Authenticator option.

  1. Enable WebAuthn by going to Dashboard > Settings > Authenticators

  2. Select Setup WebAuthn/FIDO2

  3. Ensure that you have already configured a Custom Domain, which will be your Relying Party (RP)

  4. Click Enable

Device support

To use security keys, a browser needs to have JavaScript enabled and support WebAuthn. If those conditions are not met, Authsignal will not offer the option of enrolling or authenticating with security keys. Authsignal will challenge with another factor if available.
